More TAC Quick

Okay, let me just make it clear that I like Sripraphai in New York more than I like TAC, but in Chicago, I find myself continually drawn to the place, probably due in large part to their fantastic green papaya salads, with which I am wholly obsessed.

Two new dishes I tried there recently. Som Tom Tod is green papaya salad, except the restaurant fries the green papaya slivers in a tempura-like batter. Not health food, but a nice twist on a classic. Made for a great lunch with a bowl of sticky rice.

The other dish is a variation on classic Pad Thai, except the noodles are vermicelli, my guess based on a green bean flour. Then the whole thing is encased in a thin omelet crepe.
