Nuevo Leon

Oh boy, I still have a backlog of posts, but I have spent the past few days detoxing from the prior gluttony.

On Day 1 of food crawls, we hit up Nuevo Leon, where a friend, who has yet to have a name, discovered horchata for the first time. Pesky Pescatarian watched the loss of virginity unfold and declared the experience akin to a teenage boy discovering sex for the first time: my friend was stunned and could only think about having more.

Personally, I was more smitten with the barbacoa, which was tender, fatty, and flavorful. I would tease away a few strands of meat with my fork and let the flavor sit in my mouth, savoring the experience.

Nuevo Leon, 1515 W. 18th, Chicago, IL
